Old Skaters Passing On the Torch
Submitted by kls4270 on November 1, 2007 - 7:02pm.
I skate the local skate park here in Grand Island,NE mostly at night to stay out of the way
of the munchkins. I see and talk to a lot of kids who are very impressionable. They are so funny
with some of the stuff they say and think and many of them are dying for some attention or to be heard I am 37 and have 3 kids, these kids need a positive influence and need to shed a somewhat
good image of skateboarding. We already have enough haters and dont need to feed the fire
by having the reckless rebel psycho skateboarder image. In the last 6 months I feel I have
taught some good to this kids they need a mentor and dont be affraid to tell a little shit
when he is out of line cause they freaking need it....be tactfull and smart they have no idea
what life has in store for them and you all have a chance to make a difference.

If you are ever in Springfield, MO come and check out the SSP
www.sk8springfield.com
We've got a great crew of old skaters, and a few old at heart. Bring your family and come and enjoy a day of skating in Missouri. Drop me a line if you are going to be in the neighborhood, or have any questions about the park.
